Dr. Christoforos (Chris) Kachris is co-founder and CEO at InAccel that helps companies to speedup their applications using FPGAs in the cloud. InAccel provides ready-to-use cloud accelerators for data science and big data analytics based on FPGAs. His main expertise in on hardware acceleration of applications like network processing, Machine Learning (ML), fintech and cloud computing. He has over 15 years of experience on FPGAs (reconfigurable computing), hardware accelerators, digital design, embedded systems (SoCs), and HW/SW co-design.

Machine Learning Acceleration using FPGAs in the cloud

In this talk we will show how machine learning applications (e.g. logistic regression and K-means), based on Spark or other frameworks like Python, Scala and Java, can be accelerated by 3x-10x using hardware accelerators that are deployed in the cloud without any changes on the Spark code. The talk will describe how to utilize seamlessly FPGAs in the cloud in order to speedup your applications and at the same time reduce the OpEx.
